Trevor Russell
Trevor Russell is our Toolmaker at Avid, where his 34 years of toolmaking, design, injection moulding and manufacturing experience comes to fruition. Trevor is an expert in the field and utilizes the latest in computer-aided design(CAD) software for component, mould and tool design where he has continued to perfect his skills daily since 1995. CNC programming using various CAM software packages has been a daily routine for Trevor for nearly as many years. When Trevor is not working, you’ll find him and his wife Sonya sailing into the sunset on their 11m trimaran yacht.
Chris Ebner
Chris Ebner is the General Manager at Avid, where he heads our day to day operations. After spending nearly a decade working his way through the automotive sector in various roles, Chris founded ProClean, a vehicle detailing business in Auckland. Three years on, the thriving business was sold to free up time to focus on a new, exciting project - Avid. Chris is driven by delivering the ultimate customer experience and achieves this through connecting with clients, understanding their requirements and communicating effectively to achieve desired results. Outside of work Chris is an avid fisherman, hunter and motorsport enthusiast.
Peter Nicholson
Peter Nicholson is our Process Development Engineer at Avid, where he oversees the development of processes from prototyping through to production. Peter ensures we operate efficiently, reducing variability and improving operating capabilities. Peter has experience working in a wide range of fields from mining equipment and medical device manufacturing to warships and submarines. Peter owned and operated his own engineering firm in Perth, WA before moving back to NZ and carries advanced certification in pneumatics, hydraulics & mechanical fitting. Outside of work Peter is a keen fisherman, Triumph enthusiast and has a passion for anything outdoors.
Simon McDonald
Dr Simon McDonald is involved mostly at a Board level at Avid where his expertise and relevant knowledge in the medical & technology sectors come into play. Simon is a serial inventor and entrepreneur as well as a successful dentist with achievements including but not limited to, being the founder and CEO of Triodent, which was later sold to Dentsply in 2013. Outside of work Simon’s other interests include a large family (8 children), kiteboarding and skippering his offshore yacht.
Chad Bauer
Chad Bauer started his career as a general machinist, studied Mechanical Engineering at University and then discovered the world of product design! Specialising in plastic injection moulded products and production engineering with many automated and manual assembly fixture projects under his belt, along with precision test fixtures for long term product testing and environment simulation. Along the way he’s worked in key roles on products that have gone on to win multiple Gold awards at the 'Best' design awards, the 'German design award' and multiple 'Red dot' awards. In Chad's spare time you’ll find him tinkering with his classic car, riding his motorcycle and surfing or camping with family.
Mark Bauer
Mark Bauer is our Tool & Die Maker at Avid, where his 49 years of industry experience comes in to action - having spent time working in the auto industry with vehicle production lines and automation through too high speed food manufacturing and packaging, Mark has a wealth of knowledge in a broad range of industries. Having also owned is own engineering business in Auckland, Mark has a skillset well suited to Avid's busy schedule. When Mark's not working, you’ll find him and his wife cruising the country in their luxury, late model motorhome.
